The 71st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP) – National Council of India was held at Ahsirbhavan, Verapoly Archdiocese, Cochin, Kerala, from 12 to 14 September.
This landmark gathering brought together around 120 participants, including Board Members, Management Committee members, Regional Coordinators, and Central Council Presidents from across India.
A More Systematic and Collaborative Session
The AGM was noted for its well-organised proceedings, enabling meaningful interaction between various levels of leadership. The agenda was carefully structured to cover ongoing activities, administrative matters, and plans for the future.
Presentation of Reports
Comprehensive reports from different councils and committees were presented, giving a clear picture of achievements, challenges, and the financial and operational health of SSVP activities across the country.
Activities and Future Aspects Discussed
Participants reflected on the Society’s charitable initiatives, outreach programmes, and partnerships. Significant time was devoted to discussing the future direction of SSVP in India, including capacity building, youth involvement, enhanced social impact, and greater coordination with diocesan and regional councils.
Strengthening the Mission
The meeting reaffirmed SSVP India’s commitment to its mission of service to the poor and marginalized. The exchange of experiences and best practices strengthened the resolve of leaders to work together for more impactful service in the coming years.
